Dishes and Pots and Pans, oh my!

As I said in my little mini-chat on the right sidebar of this page, today I was going through the TONS of stuff that is sitting in boxes in the garage, in a project to reclaim space and throw out old things that everybody even forgot existed. In doing so, while fighting my way through horribly smelly rat turds AND being thoroughly freaked out by one box in which something alive was moving (I decided to leave that box for another day), I managed to find a big set of nice dishes and some old pots and pans, most of which, I believe, belonged to my great grandmother. All wonderful things, since I have very few dishes, and am WOEFULLY deficient in the ‘number of pots and pans owned’ category. So, all in all, I think I came out ahead. To give you, my faithful readers, an idea of some of the things I managed to come across, I’m putting up a small picture of today’s loot on this very page! Here it is:

Not a bad haul, eh?

Oh yes… I also found THE greatest shotglass in the entire world, but it has to be seen in person to be believed (or a video of it needs to be taken… we’ll see if I get up enough energy to go about making and uploading one :P).

Cheers for now!

I like the gravy pourer thing and the cream thing. I have no idea what they are actually called. but those two look the prettiest. Beautiful white dish set! Congratulations Jawlz on the find. Oh and I want know what was in that box. hahaha. that’s so creepy. Sounds like a great storyline for a horror movie.

That’s a very nice dish set (is that what’s it call? china set?). All white! Very neat. They sort of look like paper plates. :p
Interesting that you were cleaning up yesterday. So was I; re-organizing the closet and going through lots of junk that have accumulated over the years – mostly school related. I am such a pack rat. I even found stuff from my high school years. Blah! I have decided to through most of it way (except for a few special assignments). Today I hope to finish organizing my books and the remaining college notes, papers, etc. that I will keep.
Incidentally, I found a few things that brought up warm memories of days gone by. 🙂 That was very nice.

They DO look like paper plates in that picture! But, thankfully, they’re not, and they don’t look much like paper plates in person either.

I still need to go through and organize my school papers and notes from my last year of school; the other 3 years are already done. Glad to hear you’re finding good neat things! 😛
